About Me
I have been working in the Social Services field for over 25 years with a wide variety of individuals coping with a range of challenges. In my work I have learned to appreciate how resilient and capable people are, even when faced with the most challenging of circumstances. I believe the client is the expert in their own lives and my role is to assist them to build on their strengths and learn the skills needed to address their concerns. I work using a Trauma Informed Approach which means that central to my practice is an awareness of trauma and practicing the principles of safety, trustworthiness, choice and collaboration, and building of strengths and skills.
My theoretical influences include: Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Behaviour Therapy. I have regular clinical supervision and training.
